“Engaging youth and their families to use services and supports as tools for greater independence and self-sufficiency.”

Human Resource Development Foundation, Inc. (HRDF) has partnered with the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities (WVUCED) to deliver the West Virginia Youth Works Program. The program will target 480 young adults between the ages of 15 and 25 who receive Social Security disability benefits in 19 West Virginia Counties over the next four years.

The purpose of this program is to evaluate how young adults with disabilities can improve their education and employment outcomes and become independent adults. It is a research project, funded by the Social Security Administration and the outcome may impact future SSA guidelines.
